Program Outline
Day One
Morning Sessions 9:30am - 12:30pm
Explore the 5 elements and your relationship with them, a core concept in Chinese medicine and philosophy.
Mid Morning Session
A yoga class with Charlotte.

Lunch 12:30pm
Afternoon Sessions 1:00pm - 4:00pm
A yoga class with Charlotte as well as an introduction to Yogic philosophy.
Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are, and go slowly.

Mid Afternoon Session
Locating True North
In the final session of day one, you’ll define your deepest passions and contemplate how your career is helping or impeding your full expression. Self love inevitably leads to caring for others. Finding outlets for our gifts creates a virtuous cycle, increasing self-love through having a sense of fit and value.
Waterfall Walk (Optional) 4:00 - 6:00pm
Should the weather and your energy levels be accomodating, you can use this time to take in a nearby bushwalk to our local waterfall.
Alternatively, you might indulge in some art activities or enjoy one of the more physical activities we host (mountain biking / stand up paddleboarding).
Dinner 6:30 - 7:30pm
Enjoy a home cooked, organic meal or travel out to try one of Katoomba’s local dining facilities.
Evening (Optional) 7:30pm onwards
There are a range of optional evening activities for you to enjoy, such as listening to or reading poetry, life stories, or enjoying a thought-provoking film or inspiring documentary. Other options include self-guided meditation and yoga.
Day Two
Breakfast 8:30am
Enjoy a homemade breakfast, tea or coffee on the verandah whilst the kookaburras and other local birds sing.
Morning Sessions 9:30am - 12:30pm
You'll take a look at a range of Eastern insights including Ayurveda to determine the best nutrition, lifestyle and mental diet for your type.
Mid Morning Session
A guided meditation session.
Lunch 12:30pm
Afternoon Sessions 1:30pm - 4:00pm
You'll delve into Oriental astrology and look at your unique makeup.
Mid Afternoon Session
In your final session, you will learn about Chakras, the energy centres in your body. You will also get to experience a Chakra rebalancing session.
Cost: $590 for a 2 day yoga and mediation retreat. $50 off for a weekday program. $850 for a 3 day program.
Inclusions: Our retreats include accommodation, meals, workbooks, counselling and activities.

My yogic journey began unknowingly as a child where I found solace from anxiety and an overactive mind by retreating to nature, where I would dance, sing and meditate.
Committing to yoga as a young adult, it became a spiritual practice I could commit to, resulting in a sense of inner calm, self-trust and community I feel truly at home in. After undertaking extensive yoga teacher training I now incorporate vinyasa, meditation, pranayama, yogic philosophy, yoga nidra and more.
You’ll find my yoga classes create a safe, playful, light-hearted, and welcoming space to practice yoga and reclaim inner confidence and peace.

Marcus studied social work and education at university, grounding that knowledge by working in a diverse range of roles as an adult educator and caseworker.
Through his time at Rudolf Steiner College, he realised the importance of holistic education and the need to focus on the whole person in contrast to the compartmentalised approach of institutions.
Deepening his knowledge by studying humanistic psychologists such as Abraham Maslow and Carl Jung and spending time in the Jungian community, he gained further insights into the value of depth psychology.
After running a variety of workshops in Australia and overseas he launched his initiative known as Writes of Passage Retreats, in the belief that contemplation, nature, carefully curated ideas and guidance is the ideal means for people to look at life with greater possibility and unearth their own dormant potentiality.
Through his retreat programs and individual counselling work, he has worked with a large number of individuals to help them find greater purpose, healing and enthusiasm for their future.
Eastern Wisdom Enhancing Western
Eastern philosophy tends to be more holistic and focuses on the interconnectedness of all things, while Western philosophy tends to be more reductionist and focuses on breaking things down into their constituent parts.
Depth psychology and much of our self-help and personal development systems take a western approach to self-discovery, but this is only half the equation.
Imagine how poorer the world would be without the Sufi poet Rumi, Confucius, Thích Nhất Hạnh and other epoch changing thinkers such as Indian philosopher Krishnamurti who said:
In oneself lies the whole world, and if you know how to look and learn, then the door is there and the key is in your hand. Nobody on earth can give you either that key or the door to open, except yourself.
This retreat program takes you through a range of Eastern approaches for greater self-understanding and enlightenment.
You will undertake yoga classes, guided meditation, be introduced to Buddhism, learn about the chakras, experience a chakra balancing, delve into the five elements, explore your oriental astrology, Ayurveda type and more.
Our yoga and meditation retreat takes place in the bushland background of the Blue Mountains where healthy meals are provided in your package.
