Self Care Retreat
Program Outline
Day One
Morning Sessions 9:30am - 12:30pm
Filling Your Cup
The program begins with an exploration of codependency vs self-sufficiency. You'll delve into the world of archetypes as a language that expresses our quest for wholeness and balance. It will also cover the societal messages around self-love and the role of relationships.
Mid Morning Session
This session will be an intuitive tarot reading to examine what is most pressing in your life, allowing you to connect with your subconscious self and the collective unconscious.
Lunch 12:30pm
Afternoon Sessions 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Clarity & Confidence
Looking at the archetype of the Orphan, you will contemplate what have been the gifts in your woundings. We will cover the tension between acceptance and autonomy, expectations, solitude and the distinction of loving versus being loved. By transmuting our hurts and discovering where our empathy and passions lie, clarity & confidence can launch us onto the path of self-determination.
Mid Afternoon Session
Locating True North
In the final session of day one, you’ll define your deepest passions and contemplate how your career is helping or impeding your full expression. Self love inevitably leads to caring for others. Finding outlets for our gifts creates a virtuous cycle, increasing self-love through having a sense of fit and value.
Waterfall Walk (Optional) 4:00 - 6:00pm
Should the weather and your energy levels be accomodating, you can use this time to take in a nearby bushwalk to our local waterfall.
Alternatively, you might indulge in some art activities or enjoy one of the more physical activities we host (mountain biking / stand up paddleboarding).
Dinner 6:30 - 7:30pm
Enjoy a home cooked, organic meal or travel out to try one of Katoomba’s local dining facilities.
Evening (Optional) 7:30pm onwards
There are a range of optional evening activities for you to enjoy, such as listening to or reading poetry, life stories, or enjoying a thought-provoking film or inspiring documentary. Other options include self-guided meditation and yoga.
Day Two
Breakfast 8:30am
Enjoy a homemade breakfast, tea or coffee on the verandah whilst the kookaburras and other local birds sing.
Morning Sessions 9:30am - 12:30pm
The Pilgrimage of Relationships
Alanis Morissette wrote the song, “Unsent," which consisted of letters addressed to her former boyfriends and friends. Looking at the archetype of the Pilgrim, or Seeker, you’ll reflect on your relationship history and look at the tension we each navigate between passion and security. Jealousy, infidelity, models of relating and personality wiring are some of the themes in this session.
Mid Morning Session
Choose either:
a) Astrology / Numerology Reading
Explore your soul blueprint via astrology and/or numerology. These tools can illuminate areas of growth and challenge in terms of self love and relationships. Understanding your makeup and the themes you’ve chosen to work on in this lifetime provides greater self-acceptance.

b) Breathwork / Reiki
Breathwork is a healing modality that helps us reconnect with our bodies and release stored trauma and pain. Reiki is a gentle form of energetic healing that helps with realignment and wellbeing.
Lunch 12:30pm
Afternoon Sessions 1:30pm - 4:00pm
From Symptoms to Root Causes
This session will explore the developmental stage known as intimacy versus isolation. Most of us play at reoccuring scripts with little idea as to why we do so. We will cover some psychological models of behaviours that stem from our upbringings, which can help or hinder us in the area of friendships, partnerships and work relationships.
Mid Afternoon Session
Excavating Ingrained Beliefs
Ancient Buddhism spoke of anusayas, which are dormant tendencies in the mind that erupt in episodes of mental and emotional disturbance. In this final session you will gain some objectivity around the core beliefs that developed in your youth and sift through that which is inherently you and that which was inherited.
Cost: $590 for a 2 day self-love retreat. $50 off for a weekday program. $850 for a 3 day program.

Ginny’s training in guiding and supporting others began with her hairdressing career where she informally coached, listened and offered support to the thousands of clients she came to know both in Australia and abroad.
After navigating a crisis period where she had to take control of her life and steer it in a healthier direction she found her calling to work with people who were also ready to reclaim their life.
In addition to following Buddhist practices and doing extensive studies in self-development, she complemented her self-education with formal studies in Youth Work, Community Services and a Bachelor of Social Work.
Finding Breathwork to be a transformative form of healing she has done much training in it and continues to deepen her practice. Ginny is also trained in Theta healing.
Taking an intuitive approach, Ginny found a gift for interpreting the messages offered by tarot cards, working as a spiritual healer and being a clear vessel for the collective unconscious to work through.
Counselling is something that Ginny both enjoys and has a natural affinity for.After you undertake our therapy retreats, Ginny is available to offer ongoing counselling if you’d like to build upon the work completed during the retreat.

Marcus studied social work and education at university, grounding that knowledge by working in a diverse range of roles as an adult educator and caseworker.
Through his time at Rudolf Steiner College, he realised the importance of holistic education and the need to focus on the whole person in contrast to the compartmentalised approach of institutions.
Deepening his knowledge by studying humanistic psychologists such as Abraham Maslow and Carl Jung and spending time in the Jungian community, he gained further insights into the value of depth psychology.
After running a variety of workshops in Australia and overseas he launched his initiative known as Writes of Passage Retreats, in the belief that contemplation, nature, carefully curated ideas and guidance is the ideal means for people to look at life with greater possibility and unearth their own dormant potentiality.
Through his retreat programs and individual counselling work, he has worked with a large number of individuals to help them find greater purpose, healing and enthusiasm for their future.
Self-love is the Key to Loving Others
It is also the foundation for a rich and fulfilling life. Focusing solely on self-esteem only polishes our persona and fails to reveal our deeper, most authentic self.
Similarly, a surface level self-care experience doesn't get to the root causes of our burn out, malaise or confusion about life.
Before we can realise our potential we have to know and love ourselves, including our shadow elements.
Too often the education we receive, our family heritage and the messages of the overculture make us feel we are inadequate or wrong for feeling the way we do and holding the values dear to us.
But as psychologist James Hollis said:
“We are not here to fit in, be well balanced, or provide exempla for others. We are here to be eccentric, different, perhaps strange, perhaps merely to add our small piece, our little clunky, chunky selves, to the great mosaic of being. As the gods intended, we are here to become more and more ourselves.”
